Race Driving & Instructing

After university I was working at my family’s car repair shop and was given the opportunity to race in the CASC Endurance Challenge. This started because Ron Fellows, a 3-time winner of the 24hr of LeMans, wanted us to build a race car for his son to drive in that series.

Since Ron’s son, Sam, would need a co-driver my dad volunteered me to do it. At the time I had no racing experience and could barely drive a manual. After a few months of training with Ron I had learned techniques like heel-toe downshifting and was lapping just as fast as Sam.

We ended up winning the championship in 2017 as well as the yearly Indian Summer Endurance race in both 2017 and 2018.

After winning a championship I got a lot of opportunities to instruct newer racers which was both a fun and terrifying job.
